thesis

Older adults living in residential aged care facilities (RACFs) are susceptible to analgesic-related side effects. This research explored the safe and effective use of analgesic and adjuvant medications in RACFs. This involved exploring prescribing patterns among residents from Australia, Japan and Finland. The findings advocate for targeted stewardship interventions, multidisciplinary collaboration and system-level monitoring to improve analgesic use and safety in RACFs.
