thesis
posted on 2025-04-04, 07:28 authored by Taoran Yang
This thesis primarily explores the experiences of alienation among Chinese migrant mothers of young children in Australia. Using a hermeneutic phenomenological approach, the findings reveal the meaning, characteristics, and effects of these experiences, participants' coping strategies, how motherhood interacts with these experiences, and social workers’ roles in these experiences. The findings highlight the need for social workers and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of these experiences and develop effective strategies to help migrant mothers mitigate these experiences, ultimately improving their relationships and wellbeing.
