A new concept is presented in which the Lorenz and concentration curves, and Gini coefficient are adopted as new and original measures of both transit and traffic operational performance. The results show that these metrics have the potential to demonstrate a new way to visualise the operational performance of public transport routes and distribution of congestion on traffic networks. It identifies the locations of specific transport links for targeted attention.
