Insomnia is a disorder impacting individuals’ ability to sleep. There are numerous ways to measure sleep, including asking for the sleeper’s own report or using devices like Fitbit. There are often differences when comparing different sleep measures. It is unclear what causes these differences, or how they can be addressed with individuals who have insomnia. This thesis explores the differences between sleep measurement techniques in insomnia across two different interventions. This thesis paves the way for exploring how differences between sleep measurements could be discussed with individuals and how this concept may be incorporated into clinical care to improve sleep.
