Mindfulness is taught in schools around the world as a means to promote student wellbeing and to manage stress, in addition to its use by psychologists for treating clinical conditions like anxiety or depression. While the literature around mindfulness is rapidly growing, less is known about the use of mindfulness in secondary schools in Australia. This study was set in the secondary campus of an independent girls’ school in Melbourne to gain insights from staff and students about their experience of a school-based mindfulness program. The findings and resulting recommendations will inform future development and implementation of mindfulness in schools.
