This thesis by publication explored the central research aim to understand and enhance work readiness in psychology students studying online. The project filled a literature gap relating to understanding psychological work readiness in an Australian context. Three key outcomes are noted. Firstly, a psychologically oriented definition of work readiness was developed. Secondly, the who, what and where of work readiness in psychology was explored via qualitative methods, and was a first-on-its-kind review in the psychological education space. Finally, recommendations for increasing psychological work readiness were proposed centering on the need for increased awareness and understanding of skill development during educational pathways.
