In this work, experimental, analytical, and numerical studies of self-healing and normal concrete subjected to Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR), one of the most severe damages that concrete structures may experience during their service life, is investigated. Normal and self-healing mortar and concrete, containing percentages of healing agents and reactive aggregate with different sizes were manufactured. The samples were subjected to ASR tests, in which changes in length were measured periodically. Flexural and compressive tests were also carried out. Microstructural features of the specimens were evaluated. Analytical and numerical models were also developed to predict ASR-induced expansion in both normal self-healing concrete.
