Experimental investigations on dynamic rock shear and indentation failure under complex confinement

Dynamic rock failure under shear and indentation loading are common in engineering, yet they are not well studied nor fully understood. This thesis investigate the properties and behaviours of rock failure under shear and indentation through experimental studies over a range of conditions.
