Experimental and numerical Study on Particle Deposition in the Realistic Respiratory Tract Model

This project investigates factors influencing pulmonary drug delivery, crucial for treating local and systemic diseases. A novel bionic experiment setup with airway replicas, an inhalation simulator, and an environment condition controller was proposed and validated in this work. By combining experimental and numerical methods, it studies key factors affecting drug delivery using realistic human airway models reconstructed from computed tomography (CT) images. This research enhances our understanding of pulmonary drug delivery and provides valuable insights for improving drug administration to the respiratory tract.
