Exercise for Shoulder Pain: Should patients with rotator cuff tendinopathy be lifting heavier and smarter?

thesis
posted on 2024-06-09, 23:05 authored by JOSHUA CRAIG NAUNTON
Rotator cuff tendinopathy is the third most common musculoskeletal reason for patients seeking care. Current guidelines recommend exercise treatment that is progressive and lasts for 12 weeks as the best first line treatment. This thesis investigated the optimal exercise prescription for rotator cuff tendinopathy. In summary, the optimal exercise prescription for rotator cuff tendinopathy should consider individual factors such as expectations, belief that the program is right for each individual based on intensity or progress in recovery and each patient's baseline physical capacity or activity levels.
