With inclusive education gaining ground in countries around the globe, this study investigated how the Solomon Islands prepare pre-service teachers for inclusive education. Comprising of two stages, the first study examined perceptions of deans and principals of higher educations with regard to inclusive education in the South Pacific. Following this, a survey was utilised to determine the impact of a teacher education course on preparedness of pre-service teachers for inclusive education. Findings revealed that the South Pacific is progressing well to the goal of preparing pre-service teachers for inclusion, however, some areas may require additional attention.
