This thesis examines the dynamics of in-class motivation within the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) tertiary education in Indonesia. It aims to uncover the stable patterns of students' in-class motivation, which emerge from the complex interplay of various internal and external motivational factors. These factors encompass students' general motivation levels, motivational narratives and class-related factors.
