Evaluation of mechanical performance of laser cladded rail steels for repairing railway rails

This thesis has investigated the applicability of laser cladding process for repairing the rails used in Australia heavy haul railways. Based on the mechanical performances and material properties of the laser cladded rails, it has concluded that laser cladding technique has the potentiality to repair a heavy haul rails.
