This thesis investigates how adolescents, as they grow older, interact and engage with their environment, and the subsequent effects on their sleep-wake patterns and circadian timing. The research focuses on modifiable factors such as daily schedules, study/homework load, sports and extracurricular activities, electronic device use before bedtime, caffeine consumption, parent-set bedtimes, and the quality of family and peer relationships. Aimed at providing evidence to inform policy and practice, this thesis informs strategies and interventions to promote healthy sleep habits among early adolescents and college students in their later adolescent years.
