Cement composite is one of the most widely used construction materials but is a big contributor to global carbon emissions. Therefore, there is a strong global demand for reducing the use and emission from cement. This thesis introduces an approach to enhancing cement composites by nanoengineering interfaces and potentially reducing cement usage. Findings from this research pave the way for large-scale development of carbon-neutral cement composites.
