Enhancing Lithium Sulfur Battery Performance via Advanced Polymeric Anode Coatings

thesis
posted on 2025-02-04, 05:45 authored by Declan McNamara
Lithium sulfur batteries are lightweight, cheap and better for the environment, but they do not last as long as lithium ion batteries and we are not sure if they are safer when excess energy is put in them, or what happens when they are left unused for a long time. This thesis develops two coatings: one that improve the battery's lifespan, and one that lets you charge the battery faster. It also improves the safety of batteries when extra energy is put in them.
