Engineering Analyses of Left Ventricular Haemodynamics and their Clinical Applications

thesis
posted on 2024-07-08, 05:17 authored by JOHN SHAPLAND KEARNS
The fluid motions within the left ventricle are analysed and quantified. The fluid mechanical mechanisms of healthy flow are articulated, and inform the development of a novel workflow for computational fluid dynamics of subject-specific geometries. The developed workflow yields superior agreement with measured flow data than has previously been reported and is used to investigate the functional implications of intraventricular flow.
