The thesis first deals with understanding the failure mechanisms of epoxy and epoxy-based carbon fiber reinforced composites. Later degradation of both epoxy and epoxy-based composites under harsh environmental conditions have been tracked both for changes in structural and mechanical properties. Lastly, a technique is developed for manufacturing water resistant laminates.
