Effect Of Foam Drainage In Aluminium Melt On Pore Gradient

The gradient of aluminium foam has a significant influence in the performance. This thesis investigates the drainage effect on the gradient of aluminium foam and the accuracy of gradient prediction by mathematics model is improved. Voronoi structure is employed to approximate polyhedral foam structure and the result is consistent with the actual aluminium foam at high porosity. In addition, the damping performance influenced by porosity gradient preliminary explored, finding that local plastic deformation within the overall elastic range may be the primary damping mechanism of aluminium foam.
