Eccentricity in Gravitational-Wave Transients

Since 2015, almost 100 colliding pairs of black holes and neutron stars have been detected by the Advanced LIGO-Virgo gravitational-wave detectors. This thesis investigates how these pairs formed by measuring the shapes of their orbits.
