Diversifying the functions of yeast lipid droplets for biotechnology

Lipid droplets are fat-storing compartments in cells. This Ph.D. research explored new mechanisms to diversify the functions of lipid droplets in Baker’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) using protein engineering to broaden their application in biotechnology.
