Dipole-Field-Tuning of Back-Contact Perovskite Solar Cells

thesis
posted on 2019-02-22, 04:11 authored by XIONGFENG LIN
Hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have demonstrated huge potential in becoming a promising alternative to commercially available photovoltaic technologies. For a PSC to be efficient, it typically needs to be “sandwiched” between thin charge transporting layers, which effectively extract photogenerated charges. This configuration affords high-efficiency solar cells, but results in significant performance and fabrication challenges, which limit the further improvement of this photovoltaic material towards the Shockley–Queisser limit. This thesis presents a novel device concept, along with an investigation into the device physics, with the aim of exploring the possibility of pushing PSCs towards their theoretical limit.
