Differentiating between the forms of Mycobacterium tuberculosis disease through immune markers: a translational study through treatment of active and latent tuberculosis infections. Investigating Toll-like receptors and their function, and comparison of two interferon-gamma-receptor assays

This thesis examined immune markers in patients with active and dormant tuberculosis infections. Investigations were undertaken to help better understand the differences in these immune markers in patients whilst they received antibiotic therapy for their infections. It is hoped that these changes can be used as part of clinical tests in the future.
