thesis
posted on 2023-10-21, 03:07 authored by THUBASNI KUNASEGARAN
This study investigates the relationship between diet, lifestyle, gut microbiota composition, and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) outcomes in Malaysian Malay women. The study reveals significant differences in clinical factors, lifestyle habits, and dietary patterns between women with and without GDM. It also identifies variations in gut microbial profiles and associations with clinical factors, dietary intake, and lifestyle habits. However, these predictors did not significantly correlate with maternal/neonatal outcomes. The findings of this study highlights the importance of the gut microbiome, dietary choices, and lifestyle habits during pregnancy, but further investigation is needed to develop targeted interventions for GDM management.
