Development of targeted gold nanoclusters for advanced cancer therapies
thesis

In the recent decade, nanotechnology-based therapeutic strategies revolutionised the treatment of disease. In this thesis, we developed a smart drug delivery system for cancer treatment using gold nanoclusters coated with different targeting moieties, including folic acid and nanobody. The drug delivery system was demonstrated to deliver Dox selectively to the cancer cell. The combination of radiofrequency irradiation and targeted nanoplatform significantly increased the cytotoxicity compared to control groups. This thesis work will open a new window in developing the next generation of smart drug delivery systems for cancer therapy.
