Development of lobster-inspired hybrid actuators for compliant robotic applications

This thesis presents new lobster-inspired hybrid actuators composed of both rigid and soft components to achieve more comprehensive functions. The present research has led to the development of hybrid actuators with both enhanced force output and compliant actuation which are suitable for a wide range of robotic applications.
