Development of high strength aluminium alloys for additive manufacturing

This thesis is focused on the development of a new generation of high-performance Al alloys for additive manufacturing. A high strength Al-Mn-Sc alloy that shows world-leading properties have been successfully developed through this PhD study. The scientific explorations and the proposed alloy design philosophies involved in this study will contribute to the development of other highly demanded material systems for additive manufacturing. The overall outcome of this research work will contribute to the rapid development of additive manufacturing industry.
