Development of carbon-supported metal alloy nanoparticles and single atom electrocatalysts for cathodic hydrogen and oxygen reduction reactions

thesis
posted on 2022-12-20, 00:10 authored by FEIFEI ZHANG
The thesis investigates nanomaterials and single atoms as electrocatalysts for electrochemical devices including electrolysers and fuel cells for efficient storage and utilisation of renewable electricity. It develops highly active and durable electrocatalysts for cost-effective production of hydrogen and hydrogen peroxide by alloying the noble metals with earth-abundant transition metals and downsizing metal nanoparticles to single atoms. The thesis advances the fundamental knowledge of designing nanostructured catalysts for energy and environmental applications.
