The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) is a mission measuring the Earth's gravity field changes. These changes can be related to the total water stored in a hypothetical column in each GRACE pixel. Due to the low spatial and temporal resolution of GRACE data, the practical use is challenging. To overcome this difficulty, different data assimilation techniques have been applied to extract the information in the GRACE observations and the merging with hydrological models. In this PhD, these techniques were combined, improved, and compared to find an efficient DA structure for this purpose.
