Development of an innovative lightweight high strength ground support system

thesis
posted on 2024-01-31, 03:36 authored by HAMED ASHRAFI
Ground support systems are crucial for the protection of workers and equipment during excavation and construction. However, they are often found to be heavy compared to their capacity and are considered challenging and risky to install, leading to safety issues and increased costs. This thesis aims to enhance and develop innovative ground support systems by utilizing strong yet lightweight materials and advanced design to address these existing problems. All developed designs and methods have been thoroughly tested and validated and have potential to be used by engineers to create improved, safer, and more cost-effective working construction sites.
