Development of a Measure of Functioning for Youth with Borderline Personality Pathology

Functional impairment experienced by youth with borderline personality disorder (BPD) features is severe, extensive and complex, and a valid, reliable and developmentally appropriate measure of functional impairment is needed. This thesis addresses two research aims (i) to better understand the nature and behaviours of functional impairment of youth with BPD; and, (ii) to develop and test a behaviour based measure of functional impairment suitable for use among youth with severe mental disorders including BPD.
