The significant research in the development of microelectronics and semiconductor technologies has given rise to a wireless tracking system known as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). This research aims at enhancing the performance of the chipless RFID system by developing new detection and error-correction techniques and introducing a low-cost commercial of the shelf (CoTs) reader component. In summary, this thesis has developed low-cost chipless RFID system with several original contributions in the identification and development of low-cost tag, reader and robust detection and error correction techniques.
