Development of Multifunctional Coating for Magnesium Alloy as Biomaterial Orthopaedic Implant

thesis
posted on 2022-10-16, 22:53 authored by JESSLYN KIM EAN TAN
Magnesium alloys are widely research as biodegradable material for orthopaedic implant applications due to their biocompatibility and mechanical properties. However, the rapid degradation hinders their clinical applications. This thesis develops a multifunctional coating which has enhanced corrosion resistance and positive biological response towards cells, promoting osteointegration, proliferation and cell attachment/viability.
