Photocatalytic water splitting is a promising reaction that can evolve hydrogen and oxygen from water upon illumination of light. However, photocatalysts often suffer from factors that limit their activity. This thesis addresses the issues by developing suitable modification strategies for the accomplishment of highly efficient oxygen and hydrogen evolution photocatalysts.
