Driven by the need to address global environmental and energy challenges, this thesis investigates a sustainable approach using only solar energy and water to produce green hydrogen fuel in a solar-driven photoelectrochemical system. This work includes the rational design and development of high-performance semiconductor photoelectrodes and their integration and development in a tandem water splitting system.
