thesis
posted on 2024-06-04, 01:20 authored by CRESHA GRACY JABAMANI NADAR
This thesis presents a green, sustainable, and economically feasible biorefinery for fruit processing waste. The biorefinery extracts bio-based products of commercial value using a circular economy approach. The existing conventional process was assessed using Life cycle assessment (LCA) and Techno-economic analysis (TEA) to understand the sustainability challenges and opportunities. A novel integrated green biorefinery was developed for orange peels. LCA and TEA of the developed process were carried out to understand its environmental footprint and economic feasibility.
