Development of Batch Microwave System for biomass processing

thesis
posted on 2022-08-28, 07:59 authored by ISTIAQ JAMIL SIDDIQUE
Biomass has become one of the important commercial material to produce value added products. We have developed a lab-scale batch microwave system to convert biomass into fuel. The quantity and quality of product was analyzed and the parameters affecting them were studied. We have also modeled and simulated both conventional and microwave heating process to observe the heating characteristic and product quantity. Importantly, we have managed to solve the problem of temperature measurement under microwave heating by avoiding the direct contact of temperature sensor with microwave irradiation. Challenges related to microwave processing of solid waste materials are presented.
