The field of cell-based therapy is growing rapidly with an increasing demand in manufacturing capacity. Automation is essential in addressing the challenges of manufacturing scale. The benchtop counterflow centrifugation device, Rotea, is a recent development aimed at addressing the manufacturing need in small-scale cell processing. This thesis will describe how the technology enables automated cell washing-and-concentration and cell selection.
