Human insulin is an essential peptide for maintaining life and is critical in the treatment of diabetes. Its disulfide rich molecular structure plays an important part in its biological activity. This thesis developed new methods to construct analogues of this essential hormone to uncover further information about its mechanism of action at its receptor.
