Design of Thin Film Luminescent Solar Concentrators and VO2 Smart Windows for Building Integration Application

thesis
posted on 2021-08-15, 23:24 authored by HONGBO QIU
Luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) are semitransparent and color adjustable, they can transfer the windows or glass walls into units to produce electricity from solar energy. On the other hand, VO2 smart windows can reduce the consumption of energy for cooling, because they can alleviate the fast increase of indoor temperature when it is hot indoor. This thesis puts forward the designs of tandem LSCs, VO2 smart windows and the combination, aiming to achieve 1) wide range conversion of solar light to electricity, and 2) good ability of saving energy. These designs will make significant contribution to relieve environment problems.
