Dem analysis of energy dissipation in bulk solids handling and transportation processes in the ironmaking industry

This thesis examines the energy dissipating interactions in large-scale DEM simulations based on GPU technology. The energy dissipation generated by inter-particle interactions are examined in detail in numerous granular handling devices, providing useful insights on the evaluation of performance, particle breakage and equipment wear.<p></p>
