This thesis aimed to discover the diversity of Streptomyces from mangrove in Sarawak, Malaysia. Streptomycetes are recognised as beneficial microorganisms due to their prolific production of various compounds with different biological activities such as antibacterial, anticancer, and antioxidant. Besides, this research further identified new Streptomyces species from mangrove and studied their antioxidant and anticancer potentials. In the near future, these bacteria with antioxidant and anticancer traits may be useful source for drug development and healthcare treatment.
