Cultivating Our Passionate Attachments: Self-Cultivation in Practical Philosophy

thesis
posted on 2019-05-03, 04:17 authored by Matthew James Dennis
This thesis offers an original theory of how we can cultivate our passionate attachments based on the Francophone interpretation of the Hellenistic conception of self-cultivation. It argues that the Hellenistic tradition can provide the conceptual resources to show how we can cultivate those entities that imbue our lives with meaning and purpose.
