Biobanks function as a depository for biological samples which are crucial for scientific research and clinical diagnosis. While there are a variety of sample preservation techniques, frozen samples using low temperatures are arguably the most common due to their excellent preservation of genetic information. However, current preservation protocols are often time and labour intensive. The research undertaken aimed to streamline the biobanking process through the use of special surfaces to enable rapid and effective preservation of the samples.
