Floods are highly destructive and have resulted in the loss of property and infrastructure damage, becoming a burden to government, private, insurance companies and individuals. Moreover, output from social network sites (SNS) data able to provide additional reference data but they are not well represented in current flood management strategies. This research demonstrated the value of data from SNS and their potential to become supplementary input to support authorities and communities during floods.
