This research explores the specific organisational and functional characteristics of an artistic brassware industry in Kandy, Sri Lanka focusing on the influence of ‘returning’ creative migrants. Theory and recent studies often overlook the specific features of global south craft economies. Moreover, limited attention is paid to globalisation-led migration and return dynamics of these creative communities. The research fills this knowledge gap by expanding our understanding of global south craft economies.
