Control Design of Inverter-based Resources in Power Systems

This thesis investigates the designing and prototyping of renewable energy-based generators to provide capabilities and services that are conventionally provided by fossil-fuel driven power plants. It proposes new control methodologies for the strengthening assets in the power system to keep the lights on. The findings of this thesis may enable secure and reliable operation of the power system while incorporating more renewable energy into the power system.
