This research proposed a Knowledge Management System framework integrating the people, process, technology and content elements aligned with processes of the biomedical knowledge life cycle. With the focus on developing a framework to achieve an open biomedical repository, the motivation for the research comes from a desire to remove knowledge from silos. Further to this, is the desire to improve the poor coordination of people, process, technology and content in the biomedical information profession that results in a costly disconnect through to the pipeline that delivers the point-of-care evidence for patient care.
