Complex fluids are a broad class of soft materials that serve important and useful functions in formulated products and biological systems alike. Typically, complex fluids comprise surfactants, particles, or polymers dispersed in water, which gives rise to unique nano-structure and flow behaviour. This thesis provides new insight into the fundamental role of these properties during thin film dynamics when a complex fluid is entrapped between a bubble and a solid surface. The findings further our understanding of common colloidal interactions, which assists our ability to harness the unique and desirable properties of such materials.
