Nutraceuticals (i.e. dietary supplements and health-products) is popular globally but generally lack clinical evidence to support its use. This thesis synthesised key information in facilitating consumers in making evidence-informed decision for nutraceuticals use. The synthesised clinical evidence showed that there was no evidence to support the health claims for chicken essence in cognitive-enhancing effects and chia seed in any indication. Consumers had strong preference to be informed with clinical evidence, especially on safety and effectiveness, when deciding to use nutraceuticals. The thesis highlights the need of high-quality studies as consumers value strong clinical evidence when considering the use of nutraceuticals.
